Under his visionary leadership, Beyond Escapes, the company he founded, also garnered two significant accolades: the Asia’s Innovative Travel and Tourism Award and the Asia’s Outstanding Community-Based Tourism Award.
This marks the third instance where Beyond Escapes has been distinguished as the most innovative tourism services provider on the global stage. The company previously earned this recognition in 2021 through the Travel and Hospitality Awards and Go Global Awards. The consistent acclaim reflects the company's innovative approaches, particularly its adept management of business operations during the challenging COVID period, with a focus on catering to domestic travelers.
Ruwan Ratnayaka, boasting over 17 years of industry expertise and a comprehensive educational background, including a B.Sc. in Tourism Management, MBA in Marketing, and a Professional Post Graduate Diploma in Marketing (CIM), is currently on the brink of completing his Ph.D. His contributions to the industry extend beyond executive roles, encompassing roles as a resource person, university lecturer, and a pioneering entrepreneur. He has successfully established brands such as Beyond Escapes, Leopard Nest, Aktivitar, Glamp Collection, the MICE Team, and Be Sports. Noteworthy among his initiatives are sustainability and community-based tourism endeavors, including the acclaimed "Go Camping Go Green." A standout project is Ruwan's 17-acre reforestation program in Yala, featuring the innovative Leopard Nest tree house glamping concept.
